Postcards > Yucca Valley, California

How wonderful and majestic is today's Postcards image from Kari Cillo of KCillo Photography? Kari is a portrait photographer who also loves to photograph nature in her free time.

Kari writes, "This photo was taken in April 2012 outside my front door in Yucca Valley, California. It is a view of the town with the sun-setting behind the Big Bear mountains. It was an unusually stormy day in the desert so I grabbed my camera when I saw the puffy clouds and the sun behind them and new it would make for some awesome photos!"

How would you like to open your FRONT DOOR to this every day? Amazing!

Kari's shot was taken with a Sony Alpha 200 [1/50, f/5.6, ISO 100, 35mm] and edited/enhanced in Lightroom.

Postcards > Antelope Canyon

How incredible is this stunning image taken by Alisha Pendergraff-Lopez at Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona?

Alisha says, "It is on the Navajo Reservation, they allow visitors, for a fee, to come and visit this wonderful place! It is what is known as a 'slot canyon'.  One of the fun things is to get to it you must be driven over these sand valleys in 4 wheel drive vehicles. The walls are sandstone, hence the color and layers of color along the walls. In most of the area it is dark, with sunlight filtering in through the crevice tops. It is a MUST see for vacationers in that area."

Here are the technical details of Alisha's shot:

Nikon D5000

F-stop f/11

10 second exposure

Iso-200

Focal Length 18mm

On a tripod
