I have a Canon Rebel digital SLR, but I don't know a lot about using it; I rely mostly on the automatic settings. I have four kids and love to photograph them. I also have a growing blog, and I want to take even better images to post there. So I hope I win. Also hoping for a Lola bag. . . Is it too early to start my Christmas wish list??

I have twin boys that were born nearly 3 months early. They are now almost 5 months old and doing incredibly well. But they change so fast and I feel like I'm documenting this time with some "eh" photos.

I am due any day now with my 3rd child, I love scrapbooking, and would love to improve my photography skills so that my photos really capture our memories/children in a way that shows how beautiful they really are! :)

May 26, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKerry A

SELF PACED!!!!!!! That's why! I am so my own learner. I like to let others have more time in workshops and I barely even have time in my busy schedule for those!

May 26, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterWombatish

I have a Canon T3i and would love to learn how to really use it! I don't have any kids of my own yet but love taking pics of my 9-month old niece.

May 26, 2012 | Unregistered Commenteramrita

I have taken some beautiful pictures of my granddaughter ( almost by accident!) but would love to really learn how to use my camera.

May 26, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSandy

Oh I need so much help here. I have 3 boys and am a miserable photog. The extent of my abilities is with my iPhone camera! We have a decent Canon (not a DSLR- but I can dream) that I honestly do not even know how to use. I'd realllly love to learn how to take better photos for our family as well as for my blog. Thanks for the giveaway!

May 26, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterFarrah

I totally need this course! I have bought a camera just for taking pics of my little one. I have been holding out for a local photographer who has occasional classes, but she has been too busy to schedule one, so I am in desperate need!!

May 26, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMelanie

Being a Mama to 3 ranging in the ages of 13 , 9 & 5 its hard to know what to do especially w/my oldest who well is not happy w/the camera right now. It would be nice to learn some tips on how to get a nice pic. My 9 year well is silly and sure they make for some good pictures but I'd like some non blurry ones as well. My 5 year sure loves the camera but is giving me the famous "CHEESE" face. & The #1 reason I 'd love this class is to actually get a picture of all 3 in a good shot OH That would be a dream come true! Thanks for the chance.

I need to justify the very nice Canon SLR my husband bought me for my birthday! It's the perfect gift, but I would like to REALLY use it beyond the automatic settings. He thought we needed more pictures of our family and I agree!

May 26, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterkate

Bought a Nikon d3100 a year ago and a nifty fifty lens and I have not even tried taking a picture in manual. Pathetic. I have 3 kids and would love to take some decent pictures of them someday!

I have owned my DSLR for a year now and have taken it off of auto less than a dozen times. I love love love taking photographs of my three young children in all that they do; sports, play, you name it. I would love to take this course to learn how to use my DSLR I bought on Ebay better.

May 26, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJamie

I have had my DSLR for over 7 years now and on full auto with barely any use. Now that I have a one year old and another due in September, I would love to take great pictures of their candid moments using manual mode, as I have heard that produces much better quality pictures. I do need a lot of guidance as I have tried manual mode on my own teaching but with no success.

May 26, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterQuyen

I've had my Canon Rebel for over a year, and still can't use the manual settings. I love to take pictures of my two year old and would love to be able to do it the right way. This would be perfect for me.

I need this because taking a photo of our everyday life helps keep my depression at bay! It is wonderful to look back and remember life really is never as bad as it feels when I am going thru a bout of depression! Seeing my beautiful children and my life clearer thru the lens of my camera has blessed my life. i would love to take better pictures to too!

May 27, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa Rhodes

I have 3 awesome kids - my oldest is turning 6 soon & 4 year old twins. I've always loved photography but can't seem to get great shots like I see others do. I would love to win this so I can take memorable pictures for me to remember them when I get older and they know what they did & how they look when they get older. Thanks for the opportunity!

May 27, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJ. Phan

Ok. Why do I need to learn my camera? Because I'm lame. I am a yearbook editor/photographer for my school and I have 3 kids that are just getting bigger by the day. So this would benefit my family and a whole community of people I reach with my photos in the yearbook. Please help me to never be lame again.

May 27, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMedia Goddess

I've had my DSLR for over 5 years now and I'm just starting to learn how to use it properly. I can use all the help I can get! My main use for it is taking pictures of the kids, so this would be totally perfect!

May 28, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterTracey

I NEED this because I am aware of what is lacking from my photos but a BOOK isn't doing the trick. I need more support. I Love being MAMA Papparazzi to capture my kids, husband and wonderful events in my life and this would make those photographs and moments that much more fantastic.. PLEASE help my photos!

May 28, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMargo Williams

I can take pictures of anything nature related. I am actually getting quite good at it. However. I SUCK at "people" photography. All of mine look like simple snap shots. I really want to capture the beauty of my children, and their lives while they are young.

May 28, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterNicole

Hello to everyone who posted their reasons for needing our Mom and Pop courses. All these reasons you listed are reasons that our current students gave before they took the courses. And you should see their results!

I was so moved by all your comments, and I can completely relate. That's how I felt before I learned how to photograph children, and I can tell you that the payoff is enormous. Knowing that you can create beautiful images at anytime throughout your child's life is absolutely priceless. I hope you'll take advantage of the 30% discount and join us at Mom and Pop Photo very soon!

The online student community is a great place to post old photos, ask what you're doing wrong, and get great feedback. We've even got local groups forming in cities across the country, so you'll be able to meet up with other students to practice what you learn in the courses.
