Friday Giveaway // Xanthe Berkeley's Time Capsule course
One of our favorite photographers in the whole wide world is Xanthe Berkeley. She has this profound way of capturing the splendor in every day life and we love her for it. Even more amazing, she creates "time capsules" which combine photos and videos to memorialize the stories of your life.
One such example: Xanthe's morning routine.

Beginning in April, she will teach an online course dedicated to the creation of "time capsules." Epiphanie is giving away a spot in this class to one very lucky person. To enter, comment below and tell us the first type of time capsule you would create. Would it be about a normal evening in your household or maybe how you spent the last holiday with family and friends?
Entries must be posted by Thursday, March 22 at 11:59PM CST. The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Friday, March 23. Good luck!
We will be in touch shortly!

Holy moly, that is awesome!! I would love to make a time capsule. I would probably do a "day in the life" as well. Because, there is a reason my dishes are still sitting in my sink, and I still have cereal bowls in the counter....it's because there are 700 other things that need to be done. :)
I would create a time capsule that memorialized my sons childhood so that when he gets married years from now I can give it as a present.
I would love to create a time capsule of a normal synday morning for my two boys... It's a great project these time capsules !
I think my first type of time capsule would be something about my daughter. She's 8 and at that age where she's growing up and I know these moments should be captured.
OMGoodness, what a clever idea for capturing life! I love it! There are many moments id like to capture, maybe a family dinner with all of us together (hubby is military and has to go away from time to time)... OR id love to make one of these for a fellow military spouse for the sending away and the glorious homecomings!!!! Would really love to win this class! Thanks for the giveaway :)
As I get older the more aware I become that life is fleeting. It is because of this awareness that my first several time capsules would be of my grandparents. The world has changed so much in their lifetime and they have so many stories to share. I want to honor and immortalize them because soon they will no longer be with me.
My lbsby (7) is a competitive dancer-I'd love to do a time capsule of an actual comp day for her to have & look back on.
I have not seen this idea before, but since I had two children move out of the home this past year, I would love to to capture the craziness our normal day is with the other 8... before THEY leave too.
This is amazing, I would love to learn how to do this!
This is so awesome! The creativity really touches my heart! I'm in the planning stage of starting a blog to spread some optimism in thought-provoking ways. Adding this kind of visual aspect really excites me. So, I would actually be using it less as a time capsule or diary and more as a means of sharing inspiration with others. And it would be lovely to have my name drawn on March 23rd...that's my birthday!!
This would be so wonderful!! My first time capsule would most likely be one of my daughter, she is pregnant with her first child!!! This would be so amazing to do for her!!!
I think I would want a time capsule of our ordinary life homeschooling my two boys - something for them to remember it by. Thanks for the chance!!
I would likely make a birthday time capsule for my daughter.
I love this idea! First time capsule would be an everyday morning for our family. It's a memory I never want to forget when the kids are older and I think it is such a magical time of the day with those you love. So much undiscovered before you, every day.
I would try to capture a series of "moments" in our family's busy day with 4 kids ranging from age 2-17 it is quite a chaotic and dynamic juxtaposition of activities and emotions:)
Sooo cool! I love this so much! I think it would be so cool to create a time capsule of my 15 year old daughter and her 22 year old horse. She would treasure it forever and so would I. He's a rescue horse she has loved and rides everyday and when they're together, it is beautiful!
I would love to do a time capsule on a day in the life of a dahlia farm.
Wow what a great idea, I can think of so many cool time capsules I'd love to make. I'd make on e of my day with my 8 month old, very eventful lol! I'd make another of my students dance competition from practice to performance. And to keep this short, I'd make another when my daughter turns 1.!
I think that if I were to create a photo time capsule, it would be one about my grandchildren. I'd love to keep them small and innocent without the worries that come along as we grow up. <3 those grands!
Wow, that's hard to decide. I think I would start with capturing my exploration of painting!
That is really smart. I would probably start with my commute. I am a country girl that now lives in the city. I walk to the subway and take the subway to work. Four years now and every morning I am amazed by this way of life.
I would like to make a time capsule about my life with my fiance. We will be together 5 years in August and are getting married this May! I know it would be so special to make for him.
I'd love to capture a day in the life of my two kids. It is so crazy around here, sometimes I forget what I've done in a day.
She did a great job showing how beautiful the little mundane details can be. My time capsule would be of the day my husband comes home from his 6 month deployment. Me getting ready, making the 1.5 hour drive to the airport, impatience, seeing him get off the plane, hugs, kisses, tears, the anxious drive home, the dogs' excitement, checking on the house, ending with him going to bed at home as it should be...that's a memory I'd love to remember forever. In fact, a time capsule of the day he leaves (next Saturday) would be an equally worthy time capsule, though not as joyful and full of sad tears instead of happy tears.
Love love this! Thanks for the contest
Seriously Awesome That has to be one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. The music was perfect, the integration between still and video was amazing. i think I would make something to celebrate the birth of our fourth son. I've never really done anything except standard point-n-shoot photos that a nurse or husband took in the moment and it would be wonderful to put it together in a way that brings back all the smells, sounds, and especially the emotions from that moment.
I'd document a day in the life of my kiddos. They are 3 and 4 right now and it's a super sweet time.
What about the growing of a tulip.? Or a blooming tree.?
I think it deleted my comment when I tried to type the words it asks for at the end, so I'm hoping it's not a duplicate comment.
I would time capsule the little things my kids do, their favorite things. It goes by so fast, and as they get older we will be left with the..."remember when" moments and it would be nice to look back and still see in photos and video.
Simply fabulous! I would capture my hubby's life of US Army + daddy + soulmate
When I saw the chance to win a spot in Xanthe's class I jumped at it. I am such a big fan of her work and I would love to create a time capsule of our regular family dinners every Friday. Grandparents, friends and family all gather to celebrate the end of the week. I SO want to capture this in a time capsule.
we lost my dad for cancer 6 month ago and we never had a family picture. i only realzied that you can't get what is already gone after my dads daeath. so i would love my first TC to be about my family. my mom is getting older so i would love to capture or daily life moments while she is still with us.
I'd love to one of our typical day with our animals- the kids feeding the chickens, collection eggs, the dog, Milo, chasing the chickens. The dog pulling the kids on the swing...the entire typical fun kid animal day. These things are so cool!!!
I would do a day in the life...
Sorry if this is duplicate, having some problems.
I would love to time capsule a workshop day at Teahouse...what a gift that could be for the participants and myself :) love Xanthe and hope to win!
I would time capsule a day at the park with my boyfriend and dogs. It's the best way to spend a beautiful southern day.
My time capsule would be about my parents and grandparents, so my kids would know the other important people in my life.
Oh! It's lovely! I think I would do a family beach day with my husband, 6-year-old daughter and I... shots of us walking down the cliff to the water with our boards, changing into wetsuits, playing in the sand, paddling out, catching waves together, etc. With the right soundtrack and the mix of photos and footage it would be amazing. I love it!
Would love to learn about time capsule. I love your blog and your energy.
Thanks so much for sharing.
I would love to make a time capsule about spring
How fun! I would love to create a time capsule of some of our travel!
I would time capsule how my son and I am spend our day, so my husband and family could see it! :)
Fishing, of course.
I would love to make a time capsule about our grape harvest and our whole family involvement in the event (coming up in the next month or so)
I would time capsule my newly born twin nephews. Having being born at 31 weeks and being in the NICU for the past four weeks, I'd like to give my sister and brother-in-law video diary of their new home life with their babies after they come home.
This would be awesome!! I would love to time capsule a prep for a football saturday
Definitely making art... Maybe a journal layout or painting.
My first time capsule would definitely star my mother! She is 79 and living with Alzheimer's. In the last few months she has really progressed in the disease. I would love to capture the memory she still has. One of her favorite things to do now is going out for ice cream! She enjoys leaving her assisted living home and breathe the fresh air outside. She points out the birds, airplanes and moon like they are the first time she has seen them. Of course I name them for her and she just marvels at them. She still knows who I am and loves to be around people. She acts silly (like a child sometimes) but I try to make every moment fun for her by being silly myself! It makes me sad that my pre-teen children have already forgotten what she was like before the disease. I would hope that it would be a wonderful way to "freeze" memories in time!
As a mom to adult children, I'd like to show how they've changed but still stayed the same. And seeing Xanthe's video reminded me how much I miss England.
If I was going to make a time capsule, I would do family dinner with the kids around the table. This is an awesome giveaway! Thanks Epiphanie!
